In this beginner's taxidermy class, students will learn to make their own taxidermy rabbit shoulder mount. Class cost includes an ethically sourced rabbit skin, a professional rabbit mannequin form, glass eyes, a wood plaque, etc. Each student will leave the class with their own handmade piece, ready to hang on the wall. The instructor will provide small, real antler tines for those interested in turning their rabbit into a jackalope for an additional $50. Please use the drop-down menu to choose your class date. There is no video or audio recording allowed during class, but taking photos of your work and the taxidermy studio is permitted. The class is approximately 4 hours long. Those who are 20 minutes or later to the class will not be able to join the class. All classes are BYOB if you like. Students age 13 and up are welcome to join, however those under age 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian when arriving to the class. Please note: Butterfly and moth classes are often scheduled to occur on the same date as our taxidermy classes, with a half hour in-between classes, for those interested in taking both. No experience is necessary. No harsh or dangerous chemicals are used. No animals are killed for the sake of taxidermy. Gift certificates: Please use the class date drop-down menu to choose the gift certificate option. You will be emailed a PDF gift certificate with a one year expiration date from date of purchase. The recipient can then look at the class calendar and email us to confirm the class date they wish to attend. The value of the gift certificate can alternately be put towards any other type of class or merchandise.
Private Lesson: For $100 extra, we are happy to a schedule private lesson for those who cannot make a class calendar date or those who want more one-on-one attention. We are generally available for private lessons on weekdays, evenings, and Sundays. We are NOT available on Saturdays, as we offer group classes every Saturday. Please email to confirm your preferred date/time. The $100 additional fee for a private lesson applies to ANY AMOUNT OF STUDENTS for your private class. This means that the additional fee is $100 TOTAL be it 1 or 4 students for a private class, making this a great option for a couple, group class, party, etc. For friends joining your private lesson, they can purchase the GIFT CERTIFICATE option for themselves and email us with the student’s name/date of the private class they’ll be joining. Likewise, to purchase a private lesson for you and a friend, you’d purchase one Private Lesson and one Gift Certificate option.
