Butterfly Pinning Class

$120

In this class, students will learn to pin and mount a variety of butterflies. All specimens and materials are included in the class cost. Five butterflies, an entomology spreading board, entomology pins, pinning tape, and a shadowbox frame are included for each student to work on and take home with them. Butterflies species will vary due to availability. Please use the drop-down menu to choose your class date. All classes are BYOB if you like. There are no refunds and no rescheduling for students who miss or cancel their class. Class size is limited to 5 students per class for each student to receive maximum step-by-step attention from the instructor to get the best end result. There is no video or audio recording allowed during class, but taking photos of your work and the taxidermy studio is permitted. Students age 13 and up are welcome to join, however those under age 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian when arriving at the class. Death's Head Moth Pinning Class

In this class, students will learn to pin and mount a Death’s Head Moth. These moths are easily distinguishable by the human skull-shaped pattern of markings on the thorax. All specimens and materials are included in the class cost. One moth, an entomology spreading board, entomology pins, pinning tape, and a riker mount style frame, ready to hang on the wall, are included for each student to work on and take home with them. Mouse/Small Rat Taxidermy Class

In this beginner's class in taxidermy, students will learn the taxidermy processes of skinning and mounting their own large mouse or small rat. All specimens are ethically sourced and each participant will receive a mouse/rat to work on, complete, and take home with them at the end of the lesson. Class includes the lesson, specimen, and all supplies, including a professional taxidermy mouse or rat mannequin form (approx 4.5 inches tall), glass eyes, wood base, etc. A select amount of props will be provided free of charge by the instructor for those interested in anthropomorphizing (giving human characteristics/activities) to their taxidermy, and students are encouraged to bring their own props, though an au natural mouse/rat is never frowned upon. Students are encouraged to bring miniature props if they'd like to decorate their piece; a select amount of mini clothes, dollhouse props, acorns, pine cones, etc will be provided free of charge by the instructor to those interested. Each student will leave the class with their own finished taxidermy squirrel mount. The size of the mounted squirrel is about 7 inches tall when standing upright. Students are encouraged to bring miniature props if they'd like to decorate their piece; a select amount of dollhouse props and clothing, pine cones, etc will be provided free of charge by the instructor to those interested. Students are encouraged to bring miniature props if they'd like to decorate their piece. The instructor will provide small, real antler tines for those interested in turning their rabbit into a jackalope. Please use the drop-down menu to choose your class date. Rescheduling a Class

There are no refunds for classes. If you need to reschedule an upcoming class for any reason, there is a $50 rescheduling fee. You must reschedule 24 hours or more before the start time of the class. After paying to reschedule, please email us with the class date you wish to join. Please note you can only join classes with seat availability in the drop-down menu. Please note there is absolutely no rescheduling for no-shows to classes or for those who do not pay to reschedule 24 hours or more before the class start time. There are no exceptions to this policy.

We are happy to a schedule private lesson for those who cannot make a class calendar date or those who want more one-on-one attention. Please note this fee applies to ANY AMOUNT OF STUDENTS for the private class; the additional fee is $100 total be it 1 or 5 students for a private class, making this a great option for a couple, group class, party, or people with lots of questions. Private classes can be scheduled on a weekday or weekend day. Choose the desired type of class you'd like to take and select the Gift Certificate option in it's class date drop-down menu. Then, add the Private Class option to your cart as well. We will then email you to set up a date and time that works for you for a private class. To do a specific animal not regularly offered, please email for a price quote and availability. We recommend first working on the specimens offered, as they are beginner friendly, before veering off into different animals.
