Butterfly Pinning Class

In this class, students will learn to pin and mount a variety of butterflies. All specimens and materials are included in the class cost. Five butterflies, an entomology spreading board, entomology pins, pinning tape, and a shadowbox frame are included for each student to work on and take home with them. Butterflies species will vary due to availability. The class cost is $100 per student. All classes are BYOB if you like. There are no refunds and no rescheduling for students who miss or cancel their class. Class size is limited to 4 students per class due to the size constraints of the taxidermy studio, and for each student to receive maximum step-by-step attention from the instructor to get the best end result.

Please note: All butterfly classes are scheduled to occur on the same date as a 2pm mouse, squirrel, or chipmunk taxidermy class, with a half hour in-between classes, for those interested in taking both classes. No prior experience is required. No harsh or dangerous chemicals will be used. No specimens are killed for the sake of taxidermy or entomology. Mouse/Small Rat Taxidermy Class

Mouse/Small Rat Taxidermy Class

In this beginner's class in taxidermy, students will learn the taxidermy processes of skinning and mounting a large mouse or small rat (specimen, size, and color depending on availability). All specimens are ethically sourced and each participant will receive a mouse to work on, complete, and take home with them at the end of the lesson. Class includes the lesson, specimen, and all supplies, including a complete hand-cast 4.5 inch tall polyurethane foam mannequin made by the instructor prior to class. Students will be able to pose the arms and legs of their mouse to their liking, and modify its pose. A select amount of props will also be provided free of charge by the instructor for those interested in anthropomorphizing their taxidermy. Students are encouraged to bring miniature props to decorate their piece, though an au natural mouse/rat is certainly never frowned upon. Class cost is $150. There are no refunds and no rescheduling for students who miss or cancel their class. Class size is limited to 4 students per class due to the size constraints of the taxidermy studio, and for each student to receive maximum step-by-step attention from the instructor to get the best end result. All classes are BYOB if you like. Glass domes to protect your creation will be available for purchase at the class for $20.

Chipmunk Taxidermy Class

Please join us for a workshop dedicated to chipmunk taxidermy. Students will learn hands-on the basic taxidermy skinning and mounting processes. All materials - including an ethically sourced specimen, professional taxidermy mannequin form, and glass eyes - will be provided for each student. Each students will leave the class with their own finished taxidermy chipmunk. Students are encouraged to bring miniature props if they'd like to decorate their piece; a select amount of props will also be provided free of charge by the instructor to those interested. Students can choose between making a 5 inch standing upright chipmunk or a chipmunk on all fours. Class cost is $180. There are no refunds and no rescheduling for students who miss or cancel their class. Class size is limited to 4 students per class due to the size constraints of the taxidermy studio, and for each student to receive maximum step-by-step attention from the instructor to get the best end result. All classes are BYOB if you like. Glass domes to protect/encase your creation will be available at the class for $20.

Class cost includes the lesson, squirrel specimen, and all supplies including a professional quality squirrel mannequin form, glass eyes, etc. A variety of squirrel mannequins in different poses will be available at the class. Each student will leave the class with their own finished taxidermy squirrel mount. Students are encouraged to bring miniature props if they'd like to decorate their piece; a select amount of props will also be provided free of charge by the instructor to those interested. Class cost is $180. All classes are BYOB if you like. There are no refunds and no rescheduling for students who miss or cancel their class. We invite you to join taxidermist Amber Maykut for a beginners class in raccoon taxidermy. All materials, including an ethically sourced, skinned and tanned raccoon, professional quality raccoon taxidermy form or mannequin, glass eyes, ear liners, etc., will be provided for each student to learn the taxidermy mounting process. Each class member will leave class with their own taxidermy raccoon shoulder mount on a wood plaque, ready to hang on the wall. Class cost is $300. All classes are BYOB if you like. There are no refunds and no rescheduling for students who miss or cancel their class. Class size is limited to 4 students per class due to the size constraints of the taxidermy studio, and for each student to receive maximum step-by-step attention from the instructor to get the best end result. All classes are BYOB if you like. Students may choose to return to the studio 1 week after the class to do a free 1 hour finishing work lesson on their piece to learn to epoxy, airbrush, and groom their creation.

We invite you to join us for a beginners class in fox taxidermy. All materials, including an ethically sourced, skinned and tanned fox, professional quality fox mannequin form, glass eyes, ear liners, etc., will be provided for each student to learn the taxidermy mounting process. Each class member will leave class with their own taxidermy fox shoulder mount on a wood plaque, ready to hang on the wall. Class cost is $380. There are no refunds and no rescheduling for students who miss or cancel their class. Class size is limited to 4 students per class due to the size constraints of the taxidermy studio, and for each student to receive maximum step-by-step attention from the instructor to get the best end result. All classes are BYOB if you like. Students may choose to return to the studio 1 week after the class to do a free 1 hour finishing work lesson on their piece to learn to epoxy, airbrush, and groom their creation.

Private Class Add-On

For an additional $100, we are happy to a schedule private lesson for those who cannot make a class calendar date or those who want more one-on-one attention. Please note this fee applies to ANY AMOUNT OF STUDENTS for the private class; the additional fee is $100 total be it 1 or 5 students, making this a great option for a group class, party, date activity, or people with lots of questions. Choose the desired type of class you'd like to take and select the Gift Certificate option in it's class date drop-down menu. Then, add the Private Class option to your cart as well. We will then email you to set up a date and time for your class. To do a specific animal not regularly offered, please email for a price quote and availability.
